Wow! Just Back from my first trip (And Show) in Korea!

Architect/Designers; Rob Strell and Gary McCaffee from Albuquerque, and Marcia Mazria, from Santa Monica, CA are visiting John and me and China for one month.

They have visited Song Zhuang, the artist village, where my studio is set up. While there we attended an unusual opening and performance in a new gallery. Later we attended an opening at the Pace Beijing Gallery in 798, the famous art center in Beijing.

International Design Week was taking place in 180 locations around Beijing. We visited Dashilar Alley, south of Tienanmen. This is the Hutong area where the artisans and craftsmen of the Forbidden City lived and worked. Rob and Gary were delighted to find  this traditional environment of old architecture included in the event.

Rob, Gary and Marcia are also visiting Dali, Kunming, Tibet, Lanzhou, Shanghai, Suzhou,
(In Suzhou they visited the last building designed by I.M.Pei, a fine art museum, for his home town. The museum is located next to the ancient " Humble Administrators Garden" and reflects the mood and traditions from the garden in his contemporary style.)

My Tapestry work is included in the 2011 International Tour Show arranged by Young-Sook Park of Park Fine Art Gallery, located at 20 First Plaza Suite27 in Albuquerque.

I visited the Chinese opening of the show in Harbin  with Lv Xiang Ru, her assistant.

Harbin is located in North East China, near Russia and Korea. The city of 9 million people has an interesting Russian, Jewish and Korean history colored by Japanese occupation.

I also visited Busan, Changwon, and JeonJu in South Korea with Young-Sook and Albuq. artist Joshua Franco.

More to come!!

thanks for checking in!
